Now she wants me to spend a bunch of money on a darn toy hauler with a kitchen/living room. Got bitched at all morning about it. Shes been on Facebook the past 3 weeks looking for 1. She's bellyaching because all of them she likes get sold right away.
Grandson and I got the cylinder resealed on the old skid loader this afternoon. Now we have 3 more to do. Darn thing took most of the afternoon to do. A darn nest of yellow jackets had moved in somewhere in it. He got stung one time. I usually have 5 or 6 cans of wasp and hornet spray sitting around. Used 1 on them. Still had half a dozen buzzing around. I put my bee suit on and run the loader for a while. I was able to swat 5 of them out of the air. I parked it a ways from where it was maybe any others out flying around won't find it. Still can't find their nest. He received a reserve grand champion ribbon for his livestock exhibits at the Iowa state fair, and a 3rd place overall for his pictures. Dang good kid. Wish I liked to fish. He loves to.

neighbor bought an old Case skid loader out of a shed where it had set for years, we ended up throwing a tarp over it and set off several of those raid foggers that you drop in the water cup under the tarp all at once, next day we winched it out of the shed no problem, later found a nest down in the hydraulic hose area that was several inches across.

You know Tom doing something with your son that he likes to do is time well spent. How much longer will you have that opportunity? We men have the habit of getting so involved with our pet projects, work, honey do's that we may forget those closest to us. I've done it and truth be known the rest of us have too. It's not that we mean to, but it just happens and before you know it, it's to late. I look back and see so many times where I could have done better, and didn't. I'm very proud of the kids and what they have accomplished. Must have took after their mother. But hang in there and you just may be amazed at how they turn out.     Leon

Went and looked at her 1st choice in used toy haulers. 1St strike against it. It was registered out of state, thus would have to get it transfered to an Iowa title. Not good if the owner doesn't have the proper paperwork. 2nd strike against it. It had souped up duck tape over every joint on the front of the trailer and they recaulked every joint on the sides of the trailer. It was a mess. Strike #3 the price was 4000.00 higher than similar ones and the owner could not be found. Needless to say it is still sitting on the street hooked to a filthy dodge pickup. Another I told you so to the old gal.

(Edited by me)  Tom for cripe sakes, you are ALMOST 70,,,,,,when you gonna learn that women are ALWAYS bellyaching.......and wanting to spend money......

You SHOULD be proud Grampa!!  That kid is worth his weight in gold.
NOW,,,,,,you are NEVER to old to learn fishin'....!!!!!  You can sit on a dock or on the bank of the river or in a boat and wonder at that grandson and what he'll turn into.  All the while making HIM happy and building memories he'll cherish down the road.  And the best part, is you get to sit around doing NUTHIN!!!  It's a great feeling being together.  Cherish it...
