I stopped by a friends house to look at a tractor she had told me was leaking oil.  It's an older Kubota, an L2850.  Anyway she pointed out the breather tube and said her husband thought it the leak was coming out of there, she thought it was diesel fuel.  I pulled the dip stick and fuel shot out of the hole for a while.  I told her I thought the seal between the injection pump and the engine probably is bad and the fuel is leaking from the fuel tank into the engine.  I suggested she have the Kubota dealer look at it as I havn't the slightest idea how the engine is built.

Not likely the injection pump. Check if it has a mechanical fuel lift pump. It should be a diaphragm pump mounted on the rh side of the engine near the injection pump. That is the most likely problem.

Now that’s funny. I was gonna ask almost the same. 😆😆😆

Recently my neighbor had me come look at his Kubota. He said he was told it had blown a head gasket. I checked the oil and it was milky. He said they changed it twice already. I noticed the radiator had silicon all over the top of it.
I pulled the radiator cap and it was full of fresh antifreeze. I told him to turn it over as I looked down in the radiator. I got a face full of antifreeze under pressure. It shot 30 feet in the air.
He and I both learned something.

Some days does not pay to be of assistance! Guy asked me to look at a hydraulic leak on his crawler, said he could never get a drip to show but losing fluid. Go to house, he fires it up(Cat) raises the ripper first and I see the oil shoot out across the lawn, then I saw the stripes, asked if he had been using it recently said a few times dressing the lane. Pointed out the stripes and then the ripper cylinder fitting split so he lets it down without thinking and I got a shower.

"SHE" is in her 40's I guess, known her since she was a teenager, making out with her boyfriend, now husband behind their Farmers Market Booth. Now has three daughters, one in collage the other two in HS.  She has always had a large chest, shall we say, and the day I stopped by it seemed to be unrestrained under her sweatshirt.
If I get the chance I'll look up the engine to see if it does have the fuel pump, thanks for the advice.  I still think I'll let the dealer, or someone else work on it, I've got enough projects.

Maybe just a little knob adjusting and some lubrication will take care of it, but then again that could back fire in your face. Wink

I thought maybe you guys needed a little excitement, especially Joe, who really should have better things to do, like make sure Hungry isn't and his old lady, er, loving wife, is comfortable.
This is all I'm gonna say about restraine-ment.  You guys will just have to use your imagination!
Oh, one other thought, Dale, she lives less then a mile from one of your stockholders...

You are right Shameless Dude, I have failed you!  I'll have to try harder.
Don't want any collusion going on around here.  Then again I could haul the offending tractor over to the stockholders front yard so it can drip diesel on his lawn...

I  stopped and looked at it again, didn't go to the house to visit.  It looks to me that the fuel pump is attached to the injection pump, don't know how the fuel would get to the block.  I see the hydraulic pump is hooked to the injection pump and it doesn't have paint on it, making me think it was replaced.  Maybe something caused it when mounting the hy pump?
