Dang,,,,dang,,,,,,Hopin somebody else has gone thru this and gots a answer. Our 9 year old Female Yorkie,,all of a sudden starts limpin on her LEFT hind leg. Did that for 3 days then started to hold her RIGHT hind leg and does not want to use it. She falls back when she tries to get of the steps on front porch and she used to jump up on the sofa in the den to take a nap and she cannot do that either!! My Son took her to a vet in El Paso and he said she had ,,,,ARTHRITIS,,,,??? i'm concerned as this came on so dang quick. Anybody ever seen this ,,,??? Anybody,,,,???

Any appetite or thirst? Keep an eye on both and let me know if she drinks water.

Hey Thanks for the response, Thad. This has been one of the longest weekends as she has been struggling so much to even walk let alone try to get up on the sofa. There are two vets here but no after hours phone numbers,,,,,,just wait til I sic ole Shameless on their azz this morning,,,,they gonna remember that ole boy from Blair,,,, Seriously,,,Can't say as to her drinkin water just haven't noticed but I'll start noticing more right away. She has been eating like usual and I have been crushing them pills that vet gave her, and puttin them in her food. No blood work and no Xray,,, That's what bothers me as my Son said the vet only worked her hind legs back and forth and said she had Arthritis,,,,? She must be a tough old critter as I have not heard her whimper not one time since she started this but she has that look in her eyes like she might be hurting.

Perhaps her hips are out of place. Little dogs that active are subject to things like that. Leon

I can't give you an answer for her Joe, but prayers go out to all of you, that God will give you some answers and everything will work out.
Being in the dark is the worst part of all these things. A pet is just like a little child who can't talk. You are left wondering....and helpless. Hope you find an answer soon, as you've been through enough lately to last the whole year! |

Any chance she blew a knee? My last lab had both redone. Happened real quick as he twisted one knee chasing a damn cat. More common than you would think in dogs big and small.

my big ole Golden did the same thing last year, vet said that her hip had an injury to it that had happened along time ago, prolly when a pup. and it was now acting up. has slowed her down a lot, and for a long time couldn't get up to many steps, climb in the burb, or get on the couch. now she stands/sits, and eyes the place she wants to go/do, and figgers out a way! vet gave us some pills to give her when she's in a lot of pain, (not an everyday thing), it's called PREVCON 227mg chew tabs. we usually give her a 1/2 pill when she needs one. it works very well. also watch her tongue, if it turns orange...that's kidney failure. hope your little critter gits to feeling better. now is the time to snuggle with it!
