    Posted: 16 Aug 2018 at 10:15am
I was thinking about putting a joystick on my 185 to run my 500 loader . It would be nice to free up the remotes.
Has anyone done this?
I was curious where to plumb in for supply and return oil ect.
Thanks

Ok I wonder if a guy could tee into the line going from the hyd pump outlet to the remote valves and go to the joystick or would you have to put the joystick valve in series?
Where would be the best place to put the return oil?

Somewhere here there is a sketch of how to do it. Probably can find it with a search. HTH Tracy

There is a union on the main hydraulic feed to the remote valve stack, run 5/8 hose from the feed to your joystick. Then 5/8 hose from power beyond on the joystick back to the feed line. Then from return port on joystick go back to sump on tractor. Make sure joystick is open center with power beyond. I just did the same thing on my 190XT earlier this summer. I love having the remotes freed up.

Here is a sketch I posted for a 190. The 185 should be similar.

Which stick are you planning on using?  I have a 400 series loader, has its own pump, but the spool valve is shot.  Looking at my options.

I have a 500 series loader.

How does a Prince RD522CCAA5A4B1 compare to a Cross BA2A1XAG3EA0?
The Cross is 30GPM while the Prince is 25GPM.
The pump on my loader is an 11GPM (26009-LAA  1.48C.I.D.)

Finally getting around to putting on joystick I have a cross 2 spool valve used with no numbers that seem to mean anything.
I have a question as to what port to hook where on the valve
I have a block on the lh side of valve with p and T pressure and tank and then another fitting on the rh side.
Does the T port go to the transmission sump or the rear remotes there isn’t a port labeled pb for power beyond
Thanks

You need the power beyond sleeve that goes in the T or return port. That goes to the inlet of the next valve. There should be another return port that is plugged. That is where the new return goes.
Your valve should look like there.

Here is a post I did on adding joystick to 190XT.  I think they are similar in case any of these details helps.  Sounds like you are close to being done though.

The two are pretty much the same valve. I actually used the Prince SV valve on my 190XT.

On my 180 I did not T into system, next to the battery box is a coupling connection where I split that sent the incoming fluid to the joystick, then a line from the power beyond port on joystick to the split connection on to remaining three point and remotes function. Simple and quick install, easy to remove with no special fittings.
