A 180 gas sleeve is 3.75, but the 180 had a shorter stroke crankshaft, so the pistons won't work. They were 265 cubic inch, i don't think AC ever built a diesel 265 cubic inch,or a 3.75 bore with 301 crankshaft.  GOOD LUCK

Diesel the 1 running in the class now used the gas sleeves and diesel pistons and cut the outside of the Piston down and recut the rings that's gives you 281 cubic inch going in a WD at 3500 lbs

It's supposed to be on economy class so the 281 they said they would let that go otherwise to get rid of that one cubic inch do you have to do custom sleeves and custom Pistons

The guys I talked to that have done this to a 301, used the 265 gas sleeves and then turned the 301 pistons to fit, fairy simple fix. With the small sleeves and the longer stroke of the 301 diesel it works out.
