I broke a final drive on my wd45 puller. The bearing above the hub went out and I have broken bull gear teeth. Having a hard time getting the drop part bolts loose. Any ideas

Remove oil pan and after removing snap ring on the bull gear shaft, drop the bull gear out the bottom. Remove bull pinion shaft out after you remove the bearing cap. No need to separate the axle tube from final drive case.

A mutual friend of "Arcs n Sparks"  and I has a WD45 with a 301 turbo in it. It is breaking teeth on the bull pinion and bull gears. Is there  a way to make this stronger? Friend wondered if 180-185 parts would work ?

D-17 series 3 and 4 are stronger than older D-17's and WD45's.  180/185 are much stronger but require the whole axle /final assembly to be changed out. All of these will require differential side gears to be changed because of spline differences.
