Was in the local farm and home store today looking for a large funnel. Hate my gas can EPA approved nozzle and was just going to pour straight out of the can into the funnel and speed things up. Asked the young man working what I was after and he pointed up and said " why don't you buy one of these replacement nozzles with a vent hole you can install ? ". Well you learn something new every day. Bought a couple and could not believe how well they work

There were 2 different models. This is the wider fast flowing model and they are not kidding. Bought the smaller one and it flows pretty fast as well. Little pricey 10 bucks apiece

I quit using the big red containers for mower gas, seems they always disappeared after I filled them, I now use the blue container for diesel, and the yellow one for kerosene. I still have both them!

I found out you can just take the core out of a valve stem, drill a hole in the gas can and install the valve. The screw on cap from the stem keeps it from leaking.

Shamers, you just gotta fill a gas container 3/4 full water an put in a few cups gas for stink an leave it a little ways from the road alongside the driveway....
Had a jug with a collapsible yellow nozzel like the black one above, it became brittle and broke at every ring and the jug became brittle too and cracked and leaked. Plastic don't last either... Thumbs Down had a metal can that had a rubber nozzel and that lasted for years until rust got the bottom of the can.

Got one of those exact sets for filling the WD, you better be ready them things will empty a 5 gallon can in about 10 seconds. Came with an extension piece also to make it about 2 feet long which is good, you can bend it in the filler neck before tipping can really helps cut down on spilling.

I've got a couple of those too with the extension, only had to fish the extension out of one tank so far.  I bought several Jerry cans at estate sales and auctions, painted one yellow that had diesel in it.  But these new spouts sure make quick work of fueling up.

Thanks for the info, Pat. I need to visit TSC and see if I can find some. I hate those EPA approved ones. Of course we don't have Ms Big Ones at our TSC like some lucky fella does.

Dave, Chilton is one of the cans that these nozzles fit.  Sure wish you would have save the cans. Cry
They have them at Rural King for only $7.99.  That's the cheapest I've been able to find them.  It's hard finding the older cans/plastic gas containers.
I haven't tried myself, but they say they WILL NOT FIT the new type with that STUPID push down spout.  WHAT kinda junk are we being stuck with?!?!
Just cause some dip chip can't figure out hot to NOT get gas all over hisself...

Yep, if I can find an old can, I will save it. The new cans I have use different threads...I guess they got smart and figured out what we were doing...

I find all them fancy epa stupid chit 'no spill' spouts are more gas wasteful than all the old spouts put together were... except for a steel flex hose on an old army can...

Yes, I hoard chilton and sears (same) gas can nozzles.  Around here they don't sell the replacement nozzle kits, has to do with what area of the country you live in, and EPA rules.

I started this hoarding, long afore it became fashionable, seldom pay more than a dollar a spout...

Uster could get the kit fer $4.99, @ tractor supply.

Gubmint thinks the new spouts that spill half the gas, and then another hour, fer the rest to get into what you are pouring it into, will hep the environment, LOL!Wink

I live in a place with more of them Fruits and Nuts so had the pain in the axx gas cans 30 years or more.Use to always have a gas can in the pickup for the pain in the axx Cat pony motors on all my tractors, that no vent worked good to keep the can from tipping and leaking. Until with no venting the daxx no good can started swelling up and split.Angry

So like before we CHEAPWink folks us what we got for FREE,all the plastic gallon and 5 gallon oil jugs and bucket. But now the trouble Confusedis keeping a funnel clean and handy.
