Purchased a running Tracker 7 snow blower with a build date of June 1970 that the former owner named "The Beast". His grandfather purchased it new from Frank Knapp Sales in Bloomington, MN. They were an AC dealer of industrial equipment and farm machinery. Picked it up Wed. night and had the itch to try it out on Thursday.

Looks identical to my 7 hp AC Snow Bee. I believe mine is a 1968, where did you find the build date info? I would like to verify my date code.

Mine has the factory chains on the tires. Makes a big diffference, almost unstoppable when throwing snow. A great little machine. Best Buy i have ever got...$75

The Briggs and Stratton tag has a code number of 7006241. From what I gathered from the snowblower forum is that the 70 stands for 1970 and the 06 indicates June. Paid $50 for the Tracker 7. Used it one time and had $25 of fun. After I use it one more time I will have it paid off! My cousin from Hibbing, MN bought a AC Snow Bee from the same auction I got our WC. He thinks his is a 1968. I would have preferred to have a Snow Bee, but I felt this was a good buy.

And you got a better buy than me! A great little machine.

The nice update on the tracker is 3 speed trans and lockable wheel hub. My 66 snow-bee is only 2 speed and just a differential.  the gear box up front is the same as a roto-cul tiller tuff machines, Cal in Ct

HI, I'm hoping you are still active. I was gifted the same blower you have. I got it running and replaced the belts. Fwd,rev, neutral work but it goes into drive as soon as I put in in gear The lever on the handle to engage the wheels does engage when pulled and disengages when released (I see the pully move) but the blower keeps moving until I put it in neutral. Any idea what's going on?
There seems to be plenty of slack in the belt when the handle is disengaged. Also do you know what the thing attached to the pully on the transmission is? Looks like a clutch with a grease zerk on it but I don't see how it does anything.

B&S code = year-month-day-assy line ?
so Jun 24th 1970, assy line #1

least I'm pretty sure that's what it means.

I was told that  if engine is original to a machine, the machine got built within 6 months of engine being built, so snowblower was probably built end of 1970ish....

New to forum.
That is an awesome machine!
I have a 1968 AC Sno-Bee which had the engine replaced in 1999. Newer B&S IC 8HP.
Call mine the Beast also. Neighbors love it ;-) Especially after big snowfalls.
Similar in appearance but where yours says Tracker 7 mine says Sno-Bee.

They are a good machine and unfortunately will be needed here shortly. Had a dusting of snow when I got up at 5:20 this morning. Isn’t as fun as it used to be lol.

Thanks Mike, the nicely restored Ford belongs to good friend of mine but the XT and garden stuff is mine. Only a partial picture of my collection that day, and the only one I had that had the Snow Bee in it.
