Got a 180 that doesn't show the temp. Figuring on replacing the sending unit because I thought that would be the easiest thing to start with. Well I stripped the threads trying to get it off and even used vise grips. That thing must be welded on. Any ideas on how to get it off or do I need to replace the thermostat housing? TIA

heat it with a torch, its already junk and may have sealer on the threads holding it tight

Just be sure to drain the coolant before you try to torch it or it won't get hot enough to be very effective.
