With all this talk about removing the front end cast piece on a 180-185-190 and placing it with a steal one. Just wondering what the cast piece weighs and how much can be saved making it out of steal
Thanks

180-185's are already hollowed out. 190's are solid cast and very heavy. I'd guess I could build one for a 180-185 and save you more than 100 lbs and probably near 200 lbs. I always try to incorporate the front weight bracket into the new front support to move suitcase weights out farther and hang them sideways for better results..

I know that the cast is hollow but was hoping that I could have made it a lot lighter. I about cutting off what I don't need on the front axel but that's not going to lighten it up enough.
With me on my 180 I'm at 7100lbs but I can't get it the lift the front end

I consider 200 lbs to be a lot. Sharper rear tires would help too. More weight behind the rear wheels also helps. Drawbar pull point at a SOLID 20 inch height, not a clevis that sags.

I set the drawbar at 18" from the axle and 20" high .
When I add weight I place it behind the axle but can't lift the front end up in order to hook.
I'm running 15.5 x38s. I'm running in the 8200 and 9200 lbs using 2 low

Removing 200 lbs. from the casting, narrowing the front end up to it's narrowest point and removing some of the steel from the telescoping axles, lighter front rims with smaller tires and removing one battery, gives you quite a significant amount of weight to move behind the rear axle.

I took the factory front axle and cast block out of my 210 and put a narrow front end under it and lost 1000 LBS. Hope this may help.

Well that's what I'd like to do. How much up can I safely add before smashing rear end. I wouldn't go above 9200 lbs class
