Generally speaking, unless you are running way more RPM's than stock, there is no need for an electric fuel pump. An electric fuel pump doesn't automatically make the engine have any more HP. The engineers designed the fuel system to be able to flow more gasoline per hour than the engine can burn. Now, if you have a rubber gas line with a droop in it......that isn't good. The fuel supply line should always be in a straight line from the fuel tank to the carb. More fuel in the tank increases fuel flow per hour. Using a larger than stock carb, I have drilled out the hole in the needle and seat to insure enough fuel flow for a gravity supply system to use. Most Antique Clubs don't allow an electric fuel pump.

Not sure if it did any good but I went to 3/8 line and a 1/4 turn ball valve on my WC with a high flow filter for a V8. At least I know I have good flow lol

I used a fuel pump for 5 years. Had to replace it 3 times. Took it off. And used 3/8 black pipe to make my down and straight parts. And gray 90 degree corners. Then a 3/8 high flow fuel line and filter. Haven't starved for fuel yet.
