I am thinking of going to a sale saturday that has a advertised minni moline 2 row 3pt planter.  The planter has been inside but boxes are full of trash.  my main question is is it actually a minnie moiline or a jd the reason ask is I went to see the planter yesterday and didnt see anyhting that says minnie all the boxes say are moline and some other words couldnt really make out. Color of all the boxes was gray or galvinized also is there easy way to check if everything is loose cause bottom of boxes seemed little rusty

Not much to go on here.  But, I can say for sure that Minneapolis-Moline did in fact make (or market) their own planters, because I used to have one....

I'm no expert on other planters other then my AC two row planter, but if it is driven from the wheels with sprockets and a chain, I would tip it up on end, and then turn the wheels and see if things move or not.  If it does, then you have a good chance that most of it is ok.  If it's tight, you got alot more work to do.  Most of those planters don't weigh all that much and a good sized guy with a strong back should be able to pick it up.  I can do that with my planter as I stood it on end to save some room in my barn.

If the boxes say MOLINE, then it is a JD. Bob
