yesterday i was plowing with 5 bottom whites and in 5th low (powershift) it pulled down to bout 1900 rpm in one hard spot and something slipped the tires slowed way down and i pulled it back in 4th right away it picked up to 2300 and i shifted up to 5th again and it was fine this scared the he!! out of me cause its my big tractor and i cant loose it any info on what this was all about.

The torque limitor will slip some times and then take ahold. They get a film of oil on them and when they slip it will burn the oil off and go again. It is possible that it is getting close for a new torque liminator. MACK

that was what i was hoping it was. tranny was supposed to be rebuilt not that long ago. should i maybe let it slip again for a second longer to see if it does take hold??

well mack i tried to get it to slip tonight and in 5th,6th,low or 1st,2nd hi with the breaks on a lil it would only pull engine down but would not slip anything so i dont kno .

If you reallly want to know if it's the torque limiter,don't apply the brakes a little,stand on them at wide open throttle in 4th or 5th gear,low range side.It should kill the engine,or at least pull it down to the point that you know it is going to hold under a heavy load.

Your rear main seal is probably leaking. That and the torque converter slipping will get worse with time. When the busy season is over, you may want to split the tractor and fix the seal. That would also be a good time to put the "pie pan" cover over the torque converter that I convinced people to add to the tractor when I gave up on Harvey building engines that wouldn't leak oil out of the rear main.
