OK guys  I have a Gemmer steering box on my 1940 model B . need the lower bearing but am not going to buy 600 bucks for the bearing  so can I put a Ross steering unit on it and it work   thanks Tim

You may have to change everything between the steering wheel and drag link, including the tool box because it's all different part #'s. Not sure if any parts interchange between them.

$600. ??  I would think there are other possibilities, or i would put a bronze bushing in before i paid that.  Yes the boxes are interchangeable, but you need to keep the original drop arm that goes to the steering link.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

I do not have a tool box for the tractor yet  that was one of the issue I had  I didn't want to get one tool box then have to get the other one thanks for the input  Tim

The tool box for the Gemmer has the larger opening so putting on a ross would not be a problem.
 
I make my own tool boxes. I took old rusted ones and flattened them out for patterns.

I went to a bearing supply and bought the bearing for about $30.00. We looked it  up in the Timken book. I don't know where your looking. but I qould be looking elsewhere. I had to replace both bearings and the races. Bob
