 Topic: Allis Chalmers WD45 Wheel Weight ?

So.......I made a deal on an AC WD45 w/ a 3 bottom plow and I am pretty excited about it. The check was sent and then I need to arrange for a shipper to pick it up and deliver it to me in PA. I bought it off one of the gentleman on here.
Now to my question. It has a set of rear wheel weights on it and I arranged to buy a couple more sets. On the WD45, can a set of weights be mounted on the inside of the rear wheel to cut down on overall width or do they have to go on the outside only?

Others may overrule but my answer is no-outside only with 2 on each side. Don't know actual inches.

If your intentions are to seriously pull a 3 bottom plow with a WD-45 tractor, the first thing required is full fluid in the rear tires. That figures out to be approx 900 lbs between the two rear tires. It was STANDARD equipment from the factory. Four more wheel weights on the rear is another 500 lbs and that would generally be considered enough for any heavy work.

Wheel weights on the outside only. I really like the Oxnard weights I have on my WFE 45, 375 lbs./each, no fluid, plows great. NFE 45 has three sets of F&H, wider but they do the job.

Depending on how much plowing oyu need to do, jsut fluid would be enough. Fluid with 1 or weights would certainly be enough. Physically you can put more than 2 weights on each side. I have 3 on mine with no fluid. It's just barely enough for plowing.

AMEN on that !! I can prove that to myself time and time again by just leaving the Lift/Lower lever clear down and I usually don't get very far and raise it up about an 1 1/2" to get the TBoost gauge to wake up and awaaay we go !!
