OK, after seeing the ten conmandments for the uptenth time....have a religous question. If man was made int he image of God, WHY do some relious groups circumsize the male babies ? Just curious...

If I recall, it had something to do with time the Isrealites were 'lost and wandering', all sorts of party-ing orgy's, fornication, etc,. it was a command from God as part penance for there misdeeds, as it is a sacrifice to stay in God's good graces to lessen the urge for self-pleasure.
Over the last 100 years or so, it has been claimed to be a 'health measure', but that dont have squat to do with it, its just a waste of money. . All of my son's are 'intact'.

First the circumcision of today has nothing to with any faith, it, right or wrong is a 'health' thing.
Jay was asking about the Biblical aspect of it.
Lars, you are correct, but, if I understand it right, it was a ritual that God ordained to represent the cutting away of sin from the heart just as cutting away the foreskin. This was covenant that God was making with man. Deut 10:16 "Therefor circumcise the foreskin of your heart, and be stiff-necked no longer". And then following the Bible goes on to describe what God is going to do for the Israelites.
I should add, this was happening just as the Israelites were about to enter the promised land

Probably a little too much information for a tractor forum, but my wife having been in nursing profession for 35 years has seen plenty of medical conditions. And one condition that she's seen that isn't too pleasant, is a nasty ole infection under the fore skin of non-circumcised older gents that can't clean it well. She made sure our boys had their mud flaps trimmed. Nuff said. Darrel
