Lena when I got her home.
![]() My 45. ![]() Now there's some patina on the Wood Brothers. That's an early model that was painted Gray. You can't tell it from the later red ones that are all rusty. Edited by CTuckerNWIL - 27 Mar 2011 at 3:28pm |

My IB still has it's original patina:
My RC had a thick coat of brushed on paint with lots of brush streaks, before it faded it might have looked good out in the field if you were driving by. Edited by TomMN - 27 Mar 2011 at 4:58pm |

My dad bought this WD45 new in 1954, this is after I pulled it out of the fencerow where it sat for 7 years. Pulled the plugs, shot penetrating oil in each cylinder, replaced the steel gas line with copper, filed the points, rolled it over a few times, installed new plugs, added fuel and after a few rounds with the starter she fired off leaving us ducking for cover as rust from the muffler bounced off the tin roof and showered us. In hind sight, guess I should have considered the fire hazard with the straw but the Good Lord looks after children and fools. I have since added new tires all the way around and new rear rims. It is still waiting new clothes and an overhaul but still runs pretty good for never having anything other than fuel and oil changes for 57 years. [

Here's an old pic of me and my WD "Wayne". My most patina'd tractor.
He don't look to bad in the pic, but in real life there is more rust than paint. It's too bad really, it is my only tractor with factory paint, I'd like to keep one original, but it will get repainted too. Too much rust to let be.

Believe it or not, both of those tractors were kept in the same 3 sided building for who knows how long. The 1939 was out on the open side, the 1944 was way in the back against the back wall. As best I can figure, with the dirt floor, the moisture never got dried out in the back and the tractor really grew rust. Now Steve@B&B got a C out of the same building, and the fenders were practically rusted off it. It was in the back too.
That 1939 is just a cherry little tractor, it is a shame it has that tiny ding in the radiator shroud, otherwise the tin would be perfect!

Hey, Ed, That's pretty cool! I think you should get Miller Tire T-shirts made with that tractor, and list them in your catalog.
