   With 9 headbolts, its appears to be a model 23 series, could be 23D, 23A, 23FB, etc.  There should be a tag with ID numbers riveted to the front cylinder cover.

   they could be stamped in the top or one of the two sides of the blower housing they can be hard to see with out cleaning with a wet rag will be labeled as model type and code

   Good News guys   i found the tag. i overlooked it at first since it was covered in mouse sh*t and dust. You were right ACMowerguy  Its a 23AFB     What does the AFB stand for?

   was hoping to see if it was sold on a piece of equipment but all i could come up with was the owner and service manual .  3" bore ,3 1/4" stroke ,22.97cu. in.    5.27hp @ 1800 rpm.  9.00 hp @ 3600 rpm  15. 75 ft. lbs torque @ 2400 rpm

 It's all right there on the page you used to show this image. Click PREVIEW, before posting and read the width and height numbers. 800 wide will about fit the page but you have to keep the same ratio between the 2 numbers. If my puter wasn't suffering from the cold this morning, I could show the page, pfffftttt!  |

   I'll see if i can ask grandma what it was used for.     It has its own tank so maybe it was on a tiller or something of that nature.   Sadly the air filter tube is detached from the carb so who knows whats in there lol.
