First off you gentlemen are great. Thank you for knowledge abundant. I have a 3 bolt wide front and at least one bolt is stripped out. My question is 'is it worth or acceptable practice to drill the bolt holes deeper' and can any internal damage be done by doing so.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't go all the way thru the casting and tap to the original size. Just so long as the bolt doesn't go far enough to interfere with the moving parts inside.
A liberal coating of loctite on the bolt when assembling would seal up anything that anted to leak out, or loctite a stud in place and put a nut on the outside. Any threaded hole should be at least one and a half times deeper than the bolt size. |

even better Idea! W have a shortage of Allis Chalmers here in Florida so the pickings are slim which leads to worn out ones, almost exclusively, if you can locate them at all hence the grinding, drilling, tapping, welding, crying, finger smashing etc. Still love the w series!

Drill it out and install a Helicoil insert in the original thread size. You will have stainless steel threads that are much stronger than the cast iron originals.

Previous owner had put the 3/4 bolts in the one that I have, its the only one of three that's been messed with. I would have done the heli-coil as Dave said...has been claimed that heli-coil is stronger than the original
