   912 hydro.     I pushed down on the thing circled in blue and 2 pins sunk down into what i think is the pump.    Did i do something right?   | |

   That is what you do to make the tractor free wheel so you can push it around. The hydro will not work with the pins in the down position.

   The pins should pop right back up, as soon as the input to the pump spins.  The push handle above the pins is able to be locked down, to prevent them from doing so, and keep the tractor in the freewheel position when running.
