Formerly "Big R", has been shuttering at least 1 store in the immediate area and probably the second one is not far behind  . Any of you seen anything similar in your area ?

The need to get big to corner the market is usually the downfall with discounters.  Nephew works for Harbor Freight where I can still remember them as a Catalog Only store not all that long ago and now have outlets near to everywhere.  Problem is the Upper Management does Not want a black eye from Discriminating against Shop Lifters so NO Cameras, NO beeper tags and thousands $$$ walk out of stores weekly.  Can only sustain that so long until the need to make it stop arises and when that cannot be done then closures.  Orschelns here is same way, challenge NO Shoplifters, do NOT attempt to stop 'Patrons' from walking out with Stuff, losing again Thousands per week. Biggest challenge for HF stores here according to nephew is employees.  All the way from Store Manager to dock lumpers, cannot get decent applicants, then once hire as close as can get they do not stick around after a month or two and start drawing UI.

There is a Rural King within 20 miles of "my" home, 30+ miles away from the farm ( the Big R's were within 11-18 miles of the farm) and ALWAYS has a full parking lot  .
