What series did that start with? I wondered if it started with the beginning of the R series R5, R6, and R7.

I don't think so. They were still considered a P-1 processor like the N-series. The early R-60/70 was also P-1. The last year or so R-60/70 was P-3 and everything after that. All R-40/50's were P-3. P-3's (to my remembering) were always 1" x 1.5" cage holes and the cage thickness was almost double of a P-1 and chromed on certain models.

It started in 1990 with hawk series. Late half of 89 was still mainly p1 but had some p3 stuff getting integrated but also had other upgrades. 90 had threshing side p3 and sep side half p1 half p3. 91 was all p3.

The reason I ask is there is a nice looking R7 on Tractor house. I get to dreaming because dreaming is free, but I thought about putting around a 15 or 18 foot bean head on it. Just something you could go from Farm to Farm and open them up..

R7s are a beast if in good condition, get all the R updates with AC motor. That machines been listed for a long time. Someone needs to get it and use it. I think its lower engine hours like in the 2000 range. Lots of life left in that engine if thats the case |
