Friend has a C.A. With a worn clutch. Tractor could not even drive itself on trailer. I offered to help put a new clutch in for him. Well, no good deed goes unpunished. I have it all back together. New clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing. Not the first clutch I have put in a CA. Drove it out of the shop and all seemed great. Didn't have a plow or anything to really test it, so I brought it over to a short, but steep hill. Tractor would not make it to top of hill. Could not get tires to spin. So did I do something wrong.????? Very possible........ Or could the hand clutch be the problem? How do I test the hand clutch? Never had to mess with a hand clutch before. Thanks for any suggestions.

Does it have a PTO? If so, does the PTO keep spinning?

To test the hand clutch put the tractor in gear and the pto in gear, hold the breaks let out on the clutch if the tractor does not move but the pto keeps turning its the hand clutch, if not its the foot clutch.
