for the last 4 or 5 months, we have been overwhelmed with AI augmented robo calls, between 15-20 a day on most days. Anyone else cursed with this technology?

overwhelmed, not yet.. i have got a few.. today got a text to pay my toll road bill and my account is in Oklahoma so that one got a delete and report as spam... I am only sixty-thirteen, retired at 70 and have gotten used to some of the new technology, but some not so much. peace,

I don't bother answering the phone anymore...let calls go to voice mail after 3 rings. If it's important humans leave a message. Frankly I have better things to do than answer the phone on ring #1.

My Google Listing on my business has expired - (so has my excavating business -LOL ) and needs to be renewed .
Couple times a week a great rate on shipping products - sorry my sons business
Grandpa - I need bail right away - Daa which kid are you as can't keep baling you out as did last week when you called -
I know you can send the envelope back with your donation - we can count on you funding for the ( xxxxx xxx ) cause we are seeking support for **** we keep 85% and pass on 15% to cause
Seems the phone is about like the junk mail folder on my E-mail now

Unknown calls to my cell phone are dumped off to voicemail w/o ringing. If it is important a live person can leave a message.

I get calls from some organization that supposedly deals with Medicare and thy ask if I'm in pain. I told one the other day Yes I'm talking to you and hung up! My Cellphone identifies Spam calls,but some have change to a local area code and looks like a cell phone number so I made the mistake of answering. Now if I don't recognize the number, it goes to voice mail.

Just wondering what are "AI augmented" calls as opposed to the recorded calls we have been getting for years? The USPS mailbox has been getting a lot of mail the last year or so wanting to buy (steal) the farm for 20% of the going price or just the mineral rights. Then there are the ones wanting to lease the ground for "up to" some fantastic rate per acre per year so they can plant a bunch of solar panels.

Have close to ten per day some days less some more, of the Robo Calls, the Turnpike fee calls or emails, the No Freight for a new order emails for stuff I cannot use anyway or form, Looked at something on my phone next thing is have a dozen offers for better product at less price, Asia or S Am sites, some African crap that I denote as SCAM and report, seems little slows the cascade of crap.

AC, it is initially a robo call, however, it is not a hard recorded response. It will sort of carry on a conversation with you....sort of. It is a artificially generated voice and sounds pretty genuine. I have been messing with them a little. I told one the audio was fuzzy, and it replied that it must be their mic. I did this several times and got the same results. It will ask a question, such as my age, and if i give it a neg. reply, it will say something like 'i understand your concern, but I am trying to determine your eligibility'. meanwhile I am talking to a computer |

I just had a call that wanted to help me with Medicare. The first question was can I hear them, NO. But continues with do you have both part A and B , again NO. Well I will get my senior supervisor to help you.
So he got a ear full. And then told him were to go and how to get there. If we ever get cell service at the house I can get a new round of frustration learning how to use a cell phone. Cut the land line, and start fresh.
Yes I have a cell phone now, but it is not turn on more than once a month. Only if I make a out going call. So can I say I am part of the no cell club???

Must be something wrong today haven't heard the landline ring, it don't get answered if we don't know the number, and I got a text message that I needed to pay x amount of money for poll that I didn't pay and I just deleted it.

I have had the best luck with answering and not saying anything, not a peep, and waiting for some sort of response from them. I was told that their equipment will think it is a "live" number but connected to a "dead" extension and won't try that number again.
If I have time to mess with them I will answer in a overly exaggerated oriental voice, "Yang shu be nuag nang chu zeng". The person (if real) has no answer and will say "sorry wrong number" or just hang up. With my luck, someday I will answer this way and get a person who is fluent in a rare Hunanese dialect and ask me why my dog has blue cotton candy stuck in it's ears.

I keep getting texts that want me to pay Toll Road Fees but do not say what amount is owed,,just for me to click on link to get access,,,,NO!! Now the texts are threatening to notify DMV to cancel my drivers license,,? I was on toll roads in three different states when traveling to Arkansas recently, but the texts never mention which state or which toll road,,,,???? what to do,,?

Maybe it will be the same far-east lady who replies on a random Facebook post I made and will tell me how interesting my comment was and wants to be "friends" and to PM her???
Then she breaks my heart when I discover she responded with the same saying to all the other guys in the posts.
