What weight oils do you use for the rollers, 80 or 100 weight or more? Would running through a plastic tube using gravity work, or what kind of pump to use?
Thanks. Andy G. |

Any suction type oil installer should work. They look like a grease gun, but have a clear plastic hose, instead of a grease hose. As for the fluid, I'd say as thick as you can get...

You might try John Deere Special-Purpose Corn Head Gun Grease

Only real problem with this, AKA thixotropic grease, is getting it into a roller. I think its too thick to use in a suction transfer gun...

You could use a pump type grease gun with a straight pipe (no end for zerk) and insert into roller then pump 000 weight grease or heavy oil into space until it flows back out around tube . Remove unit and replace plug

Life lesson: If you’re being chased by a lion, you’re on a horse, to the left of you is a giraffe and on the right is a unicorn, what do you do? You stop drinking and get off the carousel.

I've used these in the past on IH rollers. Thread one hole onto the grease gun tube, and seal against the port, fill the cavity till grease starts escaping the other hole:
You would need to select the size needed for your application.

Thanks everybody for the information...right now I'm still trying to get the track back on. Since the ground is soft and it's on a hill, every time I jack the front up after getting the rear blocked, it slides forward and left down the hill. If the track wasn't jammed towards the machine, I could raise it with the bucket and block the front better. One step forward 2 step back right now...
