![]() Brought this home Friday. FTP 40-24 S.N. 18898000, not sure of the year yet. The tilt cylinders leak and brakes dont work to well but other than that it seems to be in good shape. I would like to get a operators/service book for it, any ideas where i could find one?

komatsu dealers can get you a new op manual and i think a service manual but they don't like doing it and they take a long time.
looks like about a 1970 or so
be carefull if you pull the brake drums...i think that will have the bull gear type axles and the gear is in the drum. they're HEAVY

There are 3 ways to do job GOOD, FAST, CHEAP. YOU MAY CHOOSE 2. If its FAST & CHEAP it won't be GOOD, if it's GOOD & CHEAP it won't be FAST, and if its GOOD & FAST it won't be CHEAP!!!!

I second that about the drums !!! My forklift (AC of course !) only has singles up front but tire/rim/drum is very, very heavy. If you have access to a proper 'tire installing jack' great !! getting off is ok but to install you gotta be dead level and straight !!!!
trick I was told was to tilt mast all the way back, put 6by6 or bigger under mast, move mast forward.that'll raise the front off the ground just enough to get wheels off the ground.
