Is there two different blocks, with the thrust bearing in different positions?

I thought the 17 had a different thrust bearing location. Never heard of 2 different style WD45 blocks.

All WC-WD-WD45 gas engines have the crankshaft thrust brg on the front main and the mains are approx 2 1/2 " in diameter. All D17-170-175's have the center main as the thrust and are 3" in diameter.

Thanks guys! I was at the NAPA store getting bearings and the question was which was the thrust bearing, he says, there was an early engine and a later engine and the thrust bearing was different. I didn't think so, but I wasn't sure
