Hey Everyone,
Blew the cobwebs off the old girls and gave them a good drink of diesel, been a bit dehydrated. Thought it would be interesting to see other peoples pictures of Allis in action. Cheers ![]() |

Weather has been a bit unpredictable here, a few km's away was dry as a bone. Hadn't had any rain in a few weeks until that arvo.

For our part of Oz yesterday it was $A1.40 a litre. $A1.00 = $US 0.75 4 litres = 1 US gallon So $1.40 x 0.75 X 4 = $US 4.20 per US gallon (If I'm not mistaken) |

Off Highway Diesel here has regained to $2.40+/- per gallon, about $.63(US)/liter.
I still enjoy the fact my old worn slick Allis fleet use less fuel than comparable newer machines. |

other one. Diesels $1.15 nzd a litre here at truckstop. We have only one fuel for everything here. But trucks pay about 40c a km in road user charges to travel on roads. Gets quite horrendous. So I just stick to tracks not tyres.

I only buy On Highway NON dyed diesel for my use, same fuel just has dye in it and I can use the On Highway for my truck to boot. Cost is just the road taxes extra, around $.30/gallon here

I like that you got that dirt bike tucked behind the seat. Great idea for transportation to and from the work site.
I'd hate to cross the guy that picked that bike up and put it there. ![]() |

HiHD6 Merv, you have a good eye, the front one is from 1974 and the one at back is from 1971 i think. You have some awesome looking machines there yourself. King Country close, in Taranaki. That first one of yours looks very very similar alrite. Don't have many pictures unfortunately. Ill try and find some after work.
Hi Ferdinand, probaly would of been better sitting on the winch for the ride but I forgot to bring tie downs with me. Was just giving it a lift back up the hill. Haha, nothing to worry about there, only a 50 and didn't put it in there solo.

Regular diesel is 2.49 a gallon right now. Non highway red diesel is 2.29 a gallon. the dot sets up a lot and checks highway trucks diesel tanks. One time working in the log woods a service truck was low on fuel so the guy put 5 gallons of red diesel in to make it to town. He filled up with highway diesel and a couple months later he got checked and traces of the red dye was still in the tank and then there was a 1500 dollar ticket.

Here in Oz it is all the same colour. We have to do business activity statements for tax on which you claim a rebate for off road fuel use. You're supposed to have receipts for on road vehicle use - if audited. |

Back in the 70s abd 80s a lot of farmers used gasoline for there pumps so off you could buy off road gas it was dyed red. The dot would pull the air cleaners off and look in the carb for red dye. My dad bought a chevy c65 at a farm auction and it had red gas ran it . He had to flush the gas tanks and i think he replaced the carb because he said a carb was cheaper than a ticket
