Hello everyone.
Have what I think is the mower transport Rod. The older pitman mowers. Could some one measure there's. When I looked in parts book I see four different part numbers for it. The one we have is about 42" long X 5/8" Rod dia X 7/16 thread dia with like a 45deg bend at thread end. I didn't add the threaded part to the 42". ![]() Thanks Edited by Mikez - 02 May 2020 at 8:09pm |

I’ll see if I can find the one we had but can’t remember if it was for number 3 or 5.

Definitely not for a number 3 mower. If you look at Agco parts books for the no. 3 mower on the “main frame” section, you can see that the prop rod also has like a 20 degree bend at the 90 degree end of the rod to clear the hydraulic cylinder. I verified on my no. 3, it needs that 3rd bend.
I measured a prop rod on what I believe is a b and c belly mower and it is about the same length as what you measured. I am not sure what all the differences are between the no. 5 mower and the b and c belly mower but visually by the parts books, it looks like the frame for the b and c mower is longer than the no. 5 mower. The front brackets on the no. 5 mower that attach to the tractor are angled forward and the bend straight up to bolt to the tractor. The b and c mower brackets only go straight up and down between the mower and the torque tube. Like I said, I’m not sure if those are the only differences but by looking at the parts books, I would imagine that the prop rod for the no. 5 mower and b and c mower are pretty close. The frames look about the same. Hopefully someone else can verify this. |

Thanks.
Like even said, it looks like the #3 has another slight bend in it. The #5 mower is 803571 The WC mower is 802961 The B-IND is. 802391 The B,B-C mower is 802706 The B-C eff Jan 1941 is 802154 All these are in mower parts book that might look like what I have, if anybody has one they could measure quick for me. Thanks a bunch for the help. |
