Got to poking around my WD45 today. Removed the brake covers on both sides and discovered that all four springs (large and small) are broken at the opposite end of where they go around the pins on the shoes. They looked kind of rusty but my question is where do they connect to ? The diagram in the manual does not show where, it just says to use a wire to pull them through. Do they mean the hole in the axel case? What holds the end of the spring?
Thanks, Jon.

The axle case is what holds the end of the spring.
When installing new springs, DO NOT nick the spring. Use a smooth hook or wire to pull the spring. After attaching the spring, adjust the brakes. |
