I am a board member/ volunteer at the Winnebago County Historical Society here in Wisconsin. We had someone donate a pile of photos a few years back, and there happened to be some AC pics in the stack. I wrote a quick blurb about it on my blog. A friend of mine on here thinks the one might be the gearbox of an M4. You take a look and give some input—-comment on the blog post if you would like, too.

Could be part of an M-4 or M-6 High Speed Tractor.  My father operated an M-4 during the war, hauling Anti-aircraft guns.

The upper picture looks like a model C rear axle. But the brake covers look like a WD.   Maybe a prototype WD?
