2 years ago I bought a very dirty 7040 at auction for a decent price. It was sold knowing the trans would not shift in to park. After winning the bid the PO stopped by to report that when cold the power steering is very stiff but otherwise a good tractor. It was drivable but that steering did not respond well to quick movement. Warm weather it worked fine. Another winter and the steering acting up again and then come spring the hydraulics were sluggish. So then I decided to change the filters. I found WIX filters in place and took them out and installed the AGCO filters. Fast forward to today with temps in low 20s and happy to report the steering is working very well in spite of the cold temps. Comes as no surprise to some here, just thought I would relate my experience.

Nice to hear. AGCO hydraulic filters are the only way to go on 7000/8000 series tractors.
