I recently bought a seized d15 gas 1961. The po said that the 3 point arms leak. The fluid would leak in to the transmission. ? Does that make sense? How do i go about fixing this problem?
Thanks cory |

First thing is to get a true AC manual for it, here's the AGCO's link to the manuals.

Ours leaked when we had a D15- Most likely the hydraulic line in the rear housing- Break the back housing off and replace the hydraulic flex line. Cheap fix, just labor MOST Likely.

Same as my D-14.... 2 possiblities 1) bad hose 2) ram seals shot Buy ram seal kit from AGC. I had local hyd shop make the hose, 1/2 price of AGCO AND it has a swivel on one end. Be sure o have TWO empty 5 gallon pails handy, then drain the diff. don't woory about the plug dropping into the oil...not a big deal. Have sawdust/kitty liter under neath of course. Right foot rest has to come off to get pin that hold cylinder inside( 'fun' getting it back in though...) I made my own 2 piece gasket for the 'rockshaft'. It actually balances nicely with 2 slings. Be careful pulling PTO shaft out, though I'm thinking it might not have to come out...maybe the manual says what's involved...been 5-6 years since I did it. |

Ultra cheap method is to drill the 2 drain plugs thread some hose barbs into the holes, put a hose between the plugs, and the fluids will equalize, between the compartments. I've seen 'em run for years, that way!

Don't put the drain hose between the two plugs. It will only get worse and arms will leak down and worse could fall down with some one under a implement. It is a inexpensive fix. MACK

Oh, and you'll never get hurt by a collapsing hydraulic system, if you don't trust any of 'em. Never stand under anything supported by a hydraulic cylinder, unless you have safety block or stand backing it up...

Sandy Lake (vendor on this site) has everything you need and they make up their own hose with fittings for this. Brenda at S.L. can set you up with seal kit/hose and transport valve block gasket and it is quite reasonable.
Just received the goodies to do another D15II, same as Series One D15.
