How rare is the 2 speed gear box ahead of the transmission on the D-10 & D-12 ?  I have a '65 D-10 with it.  And seems it would be neat to have a matching D-12.

If you can find one, you will pay dearly to get it.  Hard to find a tractor for sale with it.  Finding the gear box alone would be harder still.

I have D10 series 3 with the factory front weight and the high low. I got it cheap because it had been sitting for a few years. Did a few minor repairs and she purrs like a kitten..

There was one just recently on FB for $5000 (D10). I am sure it's gone now.

I think this was an Allis design

I think the question was who made the hi/lo components. Were they Allis or someone else

The Series III HI-Lo along with Forward-Reverse is a different torque tube assembly than a Standard 4 speed.
If you want a Hi=Lo when you have a standard 4 speed you will have to change torque tube,,,but that is not all you will need to find!!

Look for a III with hi-lo!
