What youse talkin bout, Boy,,,,YUCKY,,,,?? chit, that good ole Hot Pastrami New York Style is ALMOST,,,,almost as good as my smoked Brisket,,,,!!! and since you asked,,I'll tell you a short story,!!
I member, my Brother asked me to cook 6 Briskets for his Son's wedding, after smoking them and trimming all the fat, I wound up with one FULL roaster of sliced brisket that we delivered to the reception in Plainview, Tx. There were 4 other roasters there with Brisket, so I figured there would be some "Takin Home" brisket,,,,, The hosts kept tellin our group from Artesia to go ahead and get in line to eat some groceries, so we finally did. I tried some of the other 3 brisket and when I got to mine,,,,the roaster was plumb empty,,,,,,,The serving lady said people were goin back for seconds even before the line got halfway thru,,,,,! Is that great or what,,,,???

Brisket is darn near good as prime rib. (Maybe better than some, depending on who the cook is) Hard to believe that years ago, most folks never even saved the brisket when they butchered. They just figured it as waste. Maybe the dogs got to eat it. Darrel

I haz driven through Armadillo, Texas. Isn't that the home of the "you eat it all and it's free" 5 pound steak? I've been known to spend a day in Texas, driving through it. You can get Shiner in Texas, can't you? I heared they have a pretty good band.

That place would be "The Big Texan". Not a bad place to eat... but I wouldn't go for the 72-ounce free-steak challenge. Nice thing, is that if you're staying at a hotel, just call, they'll come pick you up!
Ten Amendments, Ten Commandments, and one Golden Rule solve most every problem. Citrus hand-cleaner with Pumice does the rest.

Hey Dave,,,good to hear from you,,,, There used to be one of those big billboards just south of me that advertised the 72 Oz steak was FREE IF you could finish it by a certain time,,,,,and I just imagine they charge you the FULL price if you don't finish by the time allotted,,,,Hhhhmmmm,,,reckon what that would run a guy,,,,????

I gots a step daughter that worked at the Big Texan.... she got to see some finish off the 72 oz steak and the ones that didn't, said it was a mess when they didn't know when to quit and get sick,,,you have an hour to eat the steak and all the trimmins, shrimp cocktail, salad, large baked potato I don't remember the price... there's really better places to eat in Amarillo.....
