We sure appreciate all the warm-felt comments and prayers for my dad, Howard Vann.  My dad spent 6+ hours in surgery yesterday, lost a lot of blood, but went to recovery stable.  About 1 hour into recovery, he experienced a heart attack.  Because of the back surgery stress and bleeding, docs could not treat his heart as normally would so they did some temporary things and we wait.  He is in good spirits and alert and determined to improve, but we will know more today.  Please keep him in your prayers and I will keep you posted.  J.W. Vann

Sorry to hear of the complication of heart trouble. Surgery is stressful enough to do that to some. Hope things improve for him now.
I have a niece that had major surgery last year to put rods and stuff in her back. Blood loss was a big problem for her too. The surgery was to limit scoliosis which was getting bad enough to limit her breathing and digestive system. She came through it  like the trooper that she is.

My continued prayers for Howard. I guess I was very fortunate in that even though I underwent 7 hours in surgery, I didn't loose any blood. I remember the Doc telling me afterward, he couldn't believe how little blood loss I had. At any rate, prayers for your Dad on his continued recovery. I know he is a fighter and the good spirits even after all he went through is the ticket to positive outcomes just as his spirit is positive. He probably can already tell that the surgery relieved the pain he has been suffering for so long. God Bless.

JW, he is still in my prayers!  I am glad to hear about his good spirits.  It is not unusual to hear that someone had a heart attack after, or even during, a major operation like he had.  Hope all is well and he is getting stronger and well even as I write this.  Do him and you a favor, get down on your knees and say 'Thank You Lord'.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. Hope he pulls through okay with this. Bob D. didn't bleed that much cause Persian Orange runnin' through his veins is thicker than blood. Especially when it isn't thinned out...   Keep us informed on your Dad's recovery.  We just went through a bout' with my Dad 5-6 weeks ago. He's home and doing good again. Hope your Dad does the same.
