The starter in this d17d s.3 is 1113089 the book says its supposed to be 1113152 well i need a nose cone and bendix and none of the books i have list those 2 numbers.any. ideas? Gonna head down the hill and see if i can find a shop that might sell them

I would imagine what you are going to find, is discontinued, I may be wrong, but most all of those numbers have been replaced with newer ones, in fact I don't think any new Delcos even come with metal tags anymore.
If you want it to look original, you can do one of two things. Buy a used "correct" starter and rebuild it if necessary, or buy a new blank tag, and change the numbers. Depends on how good/bad the correct police in your area are?

i really could care less if the thing is og since i already put an alternator on it... and i really just want it to work. do you have any idea of what a "new" starter number might be?

The Agco Part Number is 70229492. I cannot guarantee these are right, but the Delco 9 tooth part numbers I see are 1107695, 323-659, 323689, 10461668, 10464668, S14157.

The one in there is a 10 tooth is that the correct toothcount

I do not know if or when Allis changed tooth counts on the starter. There are 10 tooth starters listed on various sites for the D17, most of them however are showing as 6 volt. The only difference would be a slightly slower cranking speed of the engine, but I doubt anybody could tell the difference by ear.

You can't install a 9 tooth starter where a 10 tooth belongs (or vice versa)...the pitch is different.....like trying to install a #60 roller chain on #50 tooth sprockets.

well i was able to order the drive and bushing. the only problem now is the nose cone is wobbled out a little need to weld it. since it is cast should i just braze it. then slowly cool it... or can i just mig it in short bursts so it doesnt get too hot. then grind it to proper spec's. oorrr take it into a welding shop to do the same thing?

If the end bushing hole is elongated I think i would use something like Belzona to fill gap around the new bushing . sure would beat welding and machining it. Other choice would be to bore it and go to oversize bushing or sleeve it to original size with 2 bushings then .

That stuff looks pretty cool only problem is the closest place to get it is 2 hours away. I was thinking of having it machined out and bushing-ing it also. Or i could order a repllacement starter for 200 and hope it works the guy at napa said it "should" cross over. The one thats supposed to be in was around 500
