intake manifold hot start valve

Another question;  we found a NOS intake cock - 1/2" pipe thread - with a tag that states "IF ENGINE IS HOT OPEN VALVE TO START. CLOSE PROMPTLY." 
I have seen these style on B's for vacuum tap - but this must be for an old large AC engine as it has the 1/2" pipe threads and there is not enough nipple for a hose.. 

It is in a newer style AC box but the # is not legible.
