Hello
Couple of silly G questions while I try to cool down...
1) Does a C trannsmission have the same internal gears as a G ?
2) what's the going rate for a pair of 'low-low 1st gear' gears these days.
3) What's a good block and head worth?
ok that's 3 questions...must be the heat !!!
Jay

Jay, Let me take a try at #1. I am no help with 2 or 3.
While the basic G transmission case is the transmission basic transmission case from the B-C - with the addition of the "creeper" gear housing and gears in front of the housing - are the gears the same? I would think perhaps the first, third, and reverse may be the same. The second gear in the C is slightly different from the B. I cannot be of any assistance on the other two. Perhaps others can. Hope this is some help. Good Luck! Bill Long |

I've kept an archive the past few years of eBay auctions. One has to be mindful of shipping, condition and how skillfully (or not) the seller described the part as factors in why an item sold for what it did.
Question Number 2:
Looks like it's been a couple of years since these have been auctioned...

Jay, call Ron Pye. Hes up in Embro and he will likely have every thing you need. I got most of my parts from Ron when my G got ripped apart by thieves. You might spend 20 minutes getting the parts and 3 hours checking out all the Allis he has. In my experiences Ron is a good guy and treats me fairly.
PM me if your interested and I will send you his number. Edited by Roddo - 20 Jul 2011 at 8:14pm |
