What have you done so far? You have to remove all of the R12 first and evacuate the system. Typically a system converted from R12 to 134 will be 60% to 80% of the original R12 capacity.

Brian the system was already changed over and it was not blowing cold air  and  i added 2 12 oz cans and now its warmer . i have no gauges to put on .

Have you checked to make sure the heater is  shut off, cable comes loose on top of cab.  Sounds like your over charged condition.   It is easy to over charge with 134.

At this point, you need to recover the system and recharge with a known amount. You need a gauge set to see whats going on. Low charge is just one of several causes for poor cooling. A fan clutch that free wheels too much, radiator and condenser clogged with chaff, stuck thermal expansion valve are a few that come to mind. You're pretty much stuck taking it to someone with a recovery machine and gauges to get it working now. Don't just vent it off. If the system is discharged too fast, the oil goes out with it.

so the gas has to come out not the liquid?  if i would get a gauge, what pressure should it read to be good ?

Are you sure the compressors still running? You might look at the front of the clutch and make sure.

Its supposed to be less harmful to the ozone layer. The EPA still says you're not allowed to just vent it off.

All of the refrigerant that is in there has to come out. The way A/C works is the change of state of the refrigerant from a liquid to a gas. As the refrig evaporates in the evaporator, it gets cold. Sounds like Lou can help get you on the right path.

my experience with ours is 3-4 cans.  but should have seen a little cooling with 2.  Maybe it is running out as fast as it is going in.  time for guages on the system.  if overcharged, your high side press will go extemely high and something could blow.  But I feel 2 cans just isn't quite enough yet.
