I've been messing with this thing for a couple months. Posted a few questions on here. It runs great. Snappy little engine. But has started to not start. It has a reman mag, that is timed by the method many explained here. I believe it's timed right. Also has a brand new zenith carb, all new autolites 295 plugs, new copper core wires, and a new battery. Has an in line fuel filter with good flow.

When I first put it together, it would start by hand, but hard. Bought a battery and put in it and fired up quick and easy. Choke it and it's pop off very fast. Got to the point it wouldn't want to start warm. Then wouldn't cold, but if I took the carb apart and messed with the float and needle, it'd start. Have never found anything wrong. Now, if you pull start it, as soon as you let the clutch out it starts and runs great. I do hear the mag snapping when trying to start also. Lots of suction if I put my hand over the breather. Tractor doesn't smoke at all and seems to have lots of lower and run great. Am I overlooking something? I think I'm going to buy a timing light and check that, but have my doubts that's it. Center mark is in hole when 1 hits cranking by hand. At my wits end with this thing. Wondering if something us off in the reman mag.
