Our '79 F2 has a mechanically engaged clutch. Mid season last year we had to replace the outer clutch assembly with a salvage unit due to the shoulder retaining snap ring that holds the "pillow block" bearing broke. I have a bad feeling we installed the block backwards,as the "tangs" on the block are not centered. Can someone tell me if the "tangs" are closer to the tailings elevator or closer to the clutch. Thanks, and other than not being able to disengage the clutch after running for 5 hours, everything is going AWESOME harvest wise.

We always turnd the short side to the outside - IF the snap ring pops off - have to use the oem hd snap ring. Take a hack saw and undercut the outer grove so as to make a 90 degree ledge for the snap ring to rest against so as not to pop over the grove. Did one of these today for a customer.

The snap ring has a sharp side and a rounded side. Sharp side goes to outside. MACK
