About all you can do is look for a casting date number on the block and that would be close by a year or so. A model 670-T was first used in late 1977 in the 7045 tractor and L-2 combines. It would have had a Stanadyne injection pump and A-C injectors. Painted black for a tractor and orange for a combine. In 1980 the combine engines became black and Bosch injectors were late 1980/81.  M-100 Bosch injection pumps came in 1982 in model 8030 tractors and L-2/L-3 combines. The type of flywheel also is a clue to tractor versus combine. If it has a hydraulic pump drive on the left side it might be from a New Idea Uni-Harvestor.

I'd guess the 21st week of 1980 the block was cast. So, probably a late 1980/early 1981 built engine. Could be a 7060 or maybe an N-5. What's the injection pump model?? DM-4 XXXXXXXX.     What's the crankshaft pulley groove count??  Rubber crank pulley or fluid damper?? What style flywheel ??

DM4-629 with a RUBBER crankshaft pulley ain't a combine, its a 7060. If it has a fluid damper and not a rubber pulley it would be N-5. Four inch exhaust elbow is N-5, Three inch is 7060. Complete numbers off the injection pump would confirm what I've said.

There appears to be an auxiliary drive plate bolted onto the back of the front engine plate. I would say combine engine. They must have the water filter tapped into another location because they aren't using that block drain.

I will take more pictures of it but it’s 4” exhaust elbow and I’m guessing the pully on the crank is off the original motor being it’s plum and so is the water pump but the motor is black also the oil filler kneck is plum in color

Pump has had work done to it with all the XXXXX.  2300 RPM means 7060. Manual shut-off means tractor. Electric shut-off means combine.  DM4-629 means 7060 or N-5. Rubber crank pulley means tractor. Fluid crank pulley damper means N-5 combine or 7080.  4 inch exhaust pipe means N-5 or 7080.   3 inch exhaust means 7060.

I don't see the manual lever on the pump and there's a wire hanging there in the picture, so??? Super hybrid engine with a variety of parts used as needed.

Yes it’s a electric shutoff    I was always told it was out of a N6 but from you guys know it appears to be a N5 it sounds like and around a late 80 to 81 model year
