Wife wants some shelves (3) mounted. The brackets have to be wood. So anyhow I just cannot seem to find the right size for this project. So I am looking for a source for the metal bracket that goes in the back that you slide the screw head in. It sets in a track that can be easily made on the router table. If I could locate a source for those little gizzies, I would make my own to the spec that I want. Just cannot seem to ask google the right words. Any help out there? Could not believe my luck on this one. Went on my forever shopping trip to the ity today. Tom, I stopped in at Lowes and picked up those key hole hangars. Still needed a router bit that was reasonably priced. Dang, this Lowes has also put in a few reserved parking spaces for Vets. Like my daddy always said, "made me feel like I was some body parking up front." Greg, Next stop, Harbor Freight. Picked up a quick hitch for the little utility tractor with my 25% coupon. Asked about router bits. They had a very affordable set hanging on the wall. In it was the bit to inlay the key hole hangar and low and behold it also included a key hole bit. Also picked up a small drum sander set to use after I cut out the brackets on the band saw. What a success. Topped it of with a couple of brews at the VFW and got back to my little patch of dirt well before dark. Happy New Year.

With a key hole bit in the router, you can eliminate any metal! Route the wood, set the screw in the wall with proper protrusion, slide the bracket on!

Dave, what your looking for is a keyhole hanger.
Lowe's has them in stock for 2 in a pack for $1.78. Hilman Keyhole Hanger, Item #: 334849, Model #: 122211 Just use a 5/8" router bit to install on the shelf. Regards, Tom

I agree, have a store close by me, best place to buy. If not a store, on-line works well. |
