I dont, but my dad has for several years.
He was very impressed with the Dr as at one exam he was about to go blind in one eye-sorry, dont remember the technical term but the retina was about to roll up like the old style projection screen!  Once it does that there is no fix and you are blind in that eye.  Sent him to a specialty surgeon that very day and he had surgery that evening!
Yes the Drs are independent. Dads had another office, but was just starting out so was at Walmart till his office could support him!

I do, GREAT service !! Yes, they're independents not wallyworld employees..
I've had 2 sets and both pairs were perfect unlike the ones from high priced optoguys who said 'you're eyes will get used to them'..... the Wallyones did NOT need MY eyes to 'adjust' to them.
Get a box(or two) of the 'Equate ultra soft lens wipes ' and ONLY use them to clean your glasses. I lightly blow on glasses first then use the wipes. It's been 6-7 months and glasses are still perfect.
When you conside I have to pay for glasses ( NOT covered  under OHIP..guv medical), I want value for my money !

I got mine there with good results until they would not take my dad who was in a wheelchair. I figured if they did not want to work with my dad, I did not need them.   Den

I thought Walmart kept a list of those same Chinese scientists that convert Poppies into heroin to act as eye doctors in their spare time.

Get a copy of your prescription and make sure they give you the PD.  Then if you want, you can get more off the internet.  Without the PD your screwed.

I got my current pair from local Walmart. Very pleased. Optometrist was very thorough. Hard to beat their prices.
Like others have said, they are independent, so, it may vary from store to store.

What does PD mean? I'll probably just get them there if I can find some quality frames.

Walmart here by me and the Sam's Club about 3 blocks away - Husband is Obtometrist at Walmart - Wife same position at Sam's club .
The doctors are independent professionals - but the actual glasses and frames are sold by Walmart or Sams - Optometrist ticked off one of the sales people when she said just get a Dollar Store set of glasses of 1.0 or less to pass my DOT physical = sales person said I will get you a package from shelf in store + +++ she said go to dollar store - for a dollar you can get a pair where here they are $7.00 pair in 3 pack for $21.

Well, if they're independent......then it's going to vary from store to store more some as far as the Dr. goes.....just like it would anyway?  But you'll get a good deal on your glasses, as long as the Doc does a good job.

PD = Pupillary Distance.

That's the distance from the center of the pupil to the center of the other pupil.  when you git new glasses, the person you are looking at will get this measurement so the pupil is in the focus spot of the lense.  Many places won't give you the measurement, I go elsewhere the next time.  It's very difficult to get it yourself accurately.

Picked up a set of BF's in safety rated glass a few years ago, they require testing but overall very reasonable, especially if you buy more than one set as discounted for multiples.

Picked them up yesterday. I could tell immediately they were far better than the old ones ever were. The guy took his time with me. Everything's bright and clear so far.

Wife gets hers at Wal Mart... Mine don't change, but I BEAT UP a pair of glasses every 15 months... Too many scratches... I just reorder the same prescription on the internet every 15 months... Have a GOOD pair and then a WORK pair on hand at all times... The PD is easy to measure in the mirror.. Just the distance between your eyeballs !!
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

When I went to get set up for a set of new glasses about 2 months later, I asked them why they would not take care of my dad. They (of course) said they would. I still walked out and went elsewhere. Den

I wear blended trifocals from Walmart. I thought they did a good job. Not cheap, as I got the Great grandkid proof ones, you can tie in a knot. I like them. I am hard on glasses and these have held up well. They are a couple years old now.

I keep going to independent place that was here before Wally World. They are not open weekends and holidays like Wally, but the eye part of Wally is probably closed too. But if you get crud in your eye they fit you in,and they fix your glasses on the spot for free if they have a part that fits. May not work for the fashion contuses to have different colored pieces but as long as they work I don't care.

When my wife was teaching at a school just down the street she took glasses from a welfare kid down at lunch time as they could not see a thing without them in class and they did them free too.
