 Topic: Stay safe fellow Southerners!!

We’ve already had just over 8” of rain since it started yesterday morning, several more expected to fall, hasn’t stopped in over 24 hrs. What’s left of the hurricane is still a bit over 100 miles from us, so many prayers for our brothers in the Florida and South Georgia area as they recover and see what damage the sunrise shows. Be safe everyone!!

All the way up in Southern Illinois we are getting remnants of it, not near as much rain as you guys. I was at 3/4" this morning and they say we will get 2-4" by the time it is done.

Son is visiting friends in Arab Alabama, will be a learning experience for him. He considering relocating to that area, possibly by next spring.

Had some empty 5 gallon buckets in the back of my farm truck yesterday morning when the rain started here. Now there's water about 6 inches from the top of the bucket. I guess this would be a decent rain gauge. If so I'd say their 8 inch forecast probably wasn't to far off

my gauge holds 5 1/2” it ran over last evening, emptied it, it’s got another 5” in it now at 2pm, and rain has stopped. At least for the moment. Really hoping the wind is done 5oo!

Here in Iowa it’s almost perfect weather other than being a little dry…
Seen on news that right where the hurricane is is 160 mph wind, that would wipe out a lot of things around here!!

I think us northerners may have issues now. We have 50-60 mph winds here in central indiana. Trees down all over. Worst should be over in 6 hours. Hope i can keep power on.

Wind gusts hit the house hard. This is only half speed of what hit Florida too. My cousin sent me pics of a bar in St. Pete we visited last year. About 4 feet of sand inside the building! One guy has 5 boats in his front yard. We all have dealt with the weather much more than city folks so we will be fine. Two flickers of the lights so far.

We are getting some much needed rain. My pond was 2 feet low from evaporation and irrigation. Went up today and it is maybe 4 inches low. Been stepping and fetching to get everything done at shop. Tracy

I hear on the weather channel that storm was over 400 miles wide! That's a heck of a storm. We thought for sure it was headed our way Northeast, then all of a sudden it made a left turn West. Whew! Hope all is well with everyone that was effected! Some area's you need a canoe to get around........  Steve@B&B

Wind here was as bad as I've seen. Damage to barn roofs and lots of trees down but I'm blessed beyond belief, neighbors in Unicoi, Green,Cock, and Sevier county's just east of me are devastated. Please pray for them as everyone trys to put their lives back together. Thanks Scott

glad you’re ok Scott, our heart breaks as we view the news pictures of Asheville and surrounding. Many people we know have children in that area that will not be able to communicate with them for many more days to know if they are alive and ok, prayer for all these people as the days move forward.
