Wondering if any of you's guys have any knowledge (preferred) or opinions (optional) Winkon this 1954 HD9 I'm checking out. 4-71 Detroit. I need a small dozer for grading my rocky red clay roads. I've got the 7G for knocking down trees and stuff.

I HAVE AN HD9 AN HD11 AND RECENTLY PURCHASED AN HD16. I HAVE NOT USED THE 16 ENOUGH TO RATE IT YET BUT I CAN TELL YOU THE HD9 IS MY FAVORT TRACTOR.THEY ARE BIG ENEOUGH FOR MOST JOBS AND SMALL ENEOUGH TO DO MOST JOBS IF THAT MAKES ANY SENCE. THE DETROIT 4-71 IS GREAT WORKS GOOD AND EASY TO GET PARTS FOR. JUST A REAL NICE TRACTOR.

My observation on another advantage of the HD9/HD11 size dozers based on a FA 10

They're the last of the "one man dozers" - one man can lift most parts without help
