Be thankful that they put the steering box out in the open rather than inside the tube like a 45!

This particular machine is a '61 and if IIRC the 145's were made 60-64. They were actually a replacement for the BD series but heavier and the 145 uses many of the same parts as a 45 including the blade circle, frame and tandems but weigh about a ton less. The 145 uses 13x24 tires instead of 14x24. (From Norms construction bible) The 145 uses the 7000 engine, A direct inject 344. The T designations is turbocharged, not all 145's were turboed. I am pretty happy with it, a far cry from todays modern graders but it gets the job done and it paid for itself in the first 6 months.

There must have been a fair bit common between 45's and 145's. I have a parts book for an AC Australia 45 and inside the front cover is the serial for a 145. "PWD 145T/511 Eng 7000-AD-145-56"
More on serials of Allis products made outside US as mentioned on that loaded thread The 45 book covers "Serial No 524/282 and up". Our "Forty Five" is 524/204, which translates by "what it has and hasn't got" to somewhere in the range of 45-1347 to 45-1670. |
