I have someone that has a old ac tiller been sitting for at least 15 years in a barn went to look at looks in good shape motor is free plenty of spark no plug wondering what size plug they used

There should be a number, type, and code on the motor, stamped, somewhere.  You can find it that way.

Depends on HP and motor. Most smalll Briggs use CJ8 or J8
5 different TT-10's,5 TT-18's Terra Tigers,B-10,2 B-207's,B-110,2 B-112's,HB-112,B-210,B-212,HB212,2 Scamp's & Homilite T-10. Still hunting NICE HB-112 & anything Terra Tiger & Trailers for them.

First two digits of the Briggs CODE NUMBER tell the year the engine was Manufactured (Not necessarily the sell date) but will give you a clue on approximate age of the unit.
