a 20 HP "B will pull 1............ a 50 HP D17 will pull 3. ....... depending on the dirt.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

I pulled 4x14s with a D17 as easy as I pulled 3X16s with the same tractor.

We pulled 4x14s w/ Dad's series I D17. Was a snap coupler high clearance with the tail wheel. Also, was pretty decent soil. Now, I struggle to pull 3x14s w/ my WD45 in the hard clay soil around where I live while Dad pulled 3x14s with his WD back home. Soil type seems to make a big difference.

I always thought a 'rile of thumb' was 10HP per furrow/blade and10HP for the tractor..
B=20hp, 10 for tractor, 1 for blade
D-14=40HP, 10 for tractor + 3*10 for plow
